Your photos

When you generate a look, your selfie is sent securely to Google's Gemini model to render your hairstyle preview. Nerola never stores your photo on a server, and your photos are never used to train models. Google processes the image to create the preview and may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring under its own terms.

Before your first generation, Nerola asks for your explicit permission to send your selfie to Google. You can decline, and nothing is sent.

Face data

What face data Nerola collects. Nerola works with two kinds of face data: (1) the facial images contained in the selfies you choose to use, and (2) a momentary on-device face check that uses Apple's Vision framework to confirm a face is visible in your photo before generation. The face check produces a simple yes/no result on your device. Nerola does not create, collect, or store facial recognition templates, faceprints, or any biometric identifiers, and it cannot identify who is in a photo.

How face data is used. Facial images are used for one purpose only: rendering your hairstyle preview. When you tap Generate, your selfie is transmitted securely to Google's Gemini model (via Firebase AI Logic / Vertex AI), which returns the preview image. Face data is never used for advertising, analytics, profiling, identification, or model training by Nerola.

Storage. Nerola does not store face data on any server we operate. Your original selfies and generated previews are stored only locally on your device, and only if you save them. Google processes the transmitted image to create the preview and may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring under its own terms; it is not used to train Google's models per the Gemini API terms we operate under.

Sharing. Face data is shared with exactly one third party — Google — solely as the processor that renders the preview, and only after you have given explicit permission in the app. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers or data brokers, and never disclosed to any other party.

Retention. On our servers: none — zero retention, because face data is never stored there. On your device: until you delete a saved look or use Settings → Delete my data, which also deletes the photos behind your looks. At Google: transient processing plus a brief abuse-monitoring window governed by Google's terms, after which it is deleted by Google.

Deletion. You can delete any saved look at any time, and Settings → Delete my data removes every saved look, the photos behind them, your credits, and your anonymous account. Deleting the app removes everything Nerola stored on your device.

What stays on your device

The looks you save live only on your device. We do not keep copies of your photos or your results on our own servers.

Account

Nerola uses an anonymous account — no name, no email, no sign-up. It exists only so your purchases and look credits stay attached to this device.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and receive only an anonymous identifier and purchase state — never your card details.

What we collect

Photos you choose to generate with (sent for processing, not stored by us), an anonymous account identifier, and your purchase state. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking. We do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

Deletion

You can delete any saved look in the app at any time. Settings → Delete my data removes your saved looks, the photos behind them, your credits, and the anonymous account itself. Deleting the app removes everything Nerola stored on your device.

Children

Nerola is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
